Pagerank is a system that google uses to classify the quality of pages on the internet. It is a measure of how many other websites are linking to a particular site. There are many websites around that will check the pagerank of a site for free, such as this one and this one.

Pagerank is really quite a bit more complicated than these checkers make out: it's not just a number from 1 to 10, it's actually a continuous scale that goes from 1 upwards without a top limit, and the number that the checkers show you is the logarithm of the actual pagerank, rounded to the nearest whole number.
But it still gives a (very) rough indication of how good a site is, and since we have one then that must be good
